Wheatgerm oil is cold-pressed from wheat germ and is the richest dietary source of vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) of any oil — providing around 150mg per 100g, far exceeding other oils. It also contains ALA omega-3, octacosanol (studied for exercise performance), and a range of other tocopherols. Its very low smoke point means it is used only as a supplement or finishing oil, never for cooking.
Add to smoothies, salad dressings, or drizzle over food cold; never heat. A teaspoon provides a significant vitamin E dose. Store in the fridge and use quickly after opening as it oxidises rapidly.
