This Privacy Policy explains how Nutriofia (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We are committed to complying with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Nutriofia is a product of The Argarth Collective Ltd, which is the data controller responsible for your personal data under this policy.
We collect only what is needed to provide the service. We do not collect your postal address, phone number, or any government-issued identification. The personal data we hold is limited to:
If you choose to use the Health Conditions feature, you may enter information about health conditions such as Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, kidney disease, iron anaemia, IBS, or menopause. Under UK GDPR Article 9, this is classed as Special Category Data — a higher-protection category that requires your explicit consent.
By entering health conditions on Nutriofia, you are giving explicit consent for us to process this data solely to personalise your nutrition reports and recommendations. You can remove any or all health conditions from your profile at any time, which immediately withdraws that consent and removes the data from your account.
Health condition data is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and is excluded from any anonymised research datasets.
We will only send you emails that are necessary to operate your account (such as password resets and payment receipts) or that you have explicitly opted into. We do not send marketing emails. If you have enabled the daily log reminder in your profile, you will receive a gentle nudge on days when you have not logged food — you can turn this off at any time via your Profile settings. We will never add you to any mailing list without your active consent.
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with the following trusted processors, under contracts requiring them to protect your data and act solely on our instructions:
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights and the safety of our users.
Where data is processed outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions — to protect your information in line with UK GDPR requirements.
It’s your data. You control it — and you can delete it instantly, any time you choose.
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary. When you choose to end your paid subscription, you have two options:
Option A — Downgrade to free (data kept). Your paid subscription is cancelled at the end of your current billing period and your account moves to free membership. Your food logs, weight history, profile, and all history are retained so they are right where you left them if you return. No further payments are taken. Your data is kept under the ongoing free service relationship. You can request full deletion at any time by choosing Option B or by emailing us.
Option B — Delete account (data erased). Your subscription is cancelled immediately and all personal data is permanently deleted — food logs, weight history, supplement logs, profile, and account. This is irreversible. No refund is issued for unused subscription time. You can initiate this from your account settings, or by emailing hello@nutriofia.com and we will action it within 30 days.
Both options are available in your subscription settings. We recommend downloading your data before choosing Option B.
With your consent (via the Research Programme option in your profile), we may use anonymised and aggregated data — with all personal identifiers removed — for nutritional research and service improvement. This data cannot identify you. You can withdraw research consent at any time in your profile.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted passwords, HTTPS-only access, and access controls. No online service can be 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. We will always post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. For significant changes we will notify active members by email.
