Patra leaves, also known as colocasia or taro leaves, are a large green leaf used in South Asian cooking. They provide vitamin A, vitamin C, folate and fibre, with calcium and iron.

Never eat raw; the leaves contain calcium oxalate crystals that irritate the mouth and throat, and must be cooked thoroughly before eating.
